Curated Park City Activities For The Outdoorsy Men and Women

Provo River Kayaking Adventure.jpg

Get in the Provo River! Something for everyone - rafting, tubing, SUP or kayaking by Provo River by High Country Adventure. Duration 1.5- 3 hours.

Mountain biking at Deer Valley. It’s hardcore so get a lesson or rent bikes at White Pine Touring, Jans or Cole Sport and ride the Rail Trail and check out Trail Side Park for fun jumps.

The house is just two minutes from the Jordanelle Reservoir and it has pontoon speed boats, SUP and kayaks for rent from Jordanelle Rentals & Marina. If you have a SUP (we do in the garage if you want to use it), head to Ross Creek for nice little hike and perfect place for SUP.

When was the last time you went fly fishing? Or have you ever? There are a lot of tours - some of my favorites are Park City Fly Fishing, All Seasons Adventures or visit Park City Visitors to discover additional fishing experiences.

Mirror Lake is also absolutely stunning! There's a waterfall on the way called Upper Provo River. Awesome picnic area. Both are high so expect temps to be 10 degrees cooler at least. Both have fun water places to get in and play.

Park City Mountain has winter and summer activities like summer concerts, Alpine slides, Viking Yurt, etc.

For a fun adult day, check out Blue Sky Lodge for ax throwing, hiking, yoga and biking. High West Distillery is amazing for brunch, tours and live music during summer hours. For sure have lunch and enjoy their craft cocktails.

Utah Olympic Park. They have bobsledding and zip lines. The nearly 400 acre venue houses one of only four sliding tracks in North America, six Nordic ski jumps, a 2002 Winter Games museum, and a multitude of adventure activities.

Favorite Trails

  • Bloods Lake is one of my favorite trails. An easy-ish one-mile hike featuring high mountain meadows, pine trees and wildflowers takes you to a popular lake with a rope swing. Go early to avoid crowds.

  • Ontario Mine Trailhead. 2.6 mile trail, designated a foot-traffic only trail, so you're guaranteed more peace and quiet. One popular way to do this trail involves taking the Sterling Express chairlift up and hiking down. Alternatively, if you hike up, you can ride the lift down for free.

  • Iron Mountain Trail. A 5.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from May until October.

  • Mid Mountain Trail. A 23 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and mountain biking. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

  • Sky Ridge is a good hike by our place but no cell coverage so go on a chilly day or early/late. A 2 mile blue single-track trail. This hike primary trail can be used both directions and has a moderate overall physical rating. On average it takes 22 minutes to complete this trail.
